Miss Yungclas Dies at 80

Miss Florence Yungclas, 80-year old member of a pioneer Hamilton County family, died late Thursday afternoon at the Hamilton county hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Homer A. Doak officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Florence Louise Yungclas, daughter of Henry T. and Emma Stahl Yungclas, former pioneer residents of this area, was born Dec. 9, 1886, on a farm in Fremont township. She spent nearly her entire life in this community except at few years following World War I, when she “proved up” on a homestead in Wyoming. She was an early amateur photographer and also served as a receptionist for the late Dr. E. E. Richardson, a doctor in this community 60 years ago. She also cared for Mrs. Ella Entriken for 15 years and in recent years resided with her cousin Mabelle Yungclas, 1515 Willson Ave. Miss Yungclas is survived by her half-sister, Mrs. Franklin (Claire) Reck, Manchester, Mich; two half-brothers, James A. Yungclas of Renwick and William H. Yungclas, Webster City; six nieces; eight nephews and a number of cousins.
