Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, IAOrdean Claude, 81, of Webster City, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Hamilton Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Graceland Cemetery, with Rev. David Doerr officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service time at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Ordean Ralph Claude, son of Peter and Hazel Frakes Claude, was born December 29, 1927 on a farm east of Woolstock. He attended rural schools in Wright and Hamilton counties. On October 23, 1963, he married Marcella Mae Larson at Omaha. The couple farmed near Ellsworth for over 14 years, two years at Modern Farm Systems and also worked at Housberg Construction. In 1976, they moved to Webster City where he started his own construction business which he operated for over 23 years. He retired in 1987 due to failing health.
Ordean is survived by his wife, Marcella, daughter, Elizabeth Claude of Seagullville, TX ; Bonnie and Lee Goreham; Kelly and Christopher Mueller of Brenham, TX; son, Larry Claude; step-children, Marlys Trainer and companion, Steven Rawson of Fort Dodge; Dan and Vicki Ubben of Milo; Bruce and Taz Ubben of Pace,FL; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Eulalie Hall of Colo; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Kay Claude; his parents; grandson, Shannon John Sorenson; brothers, Virgil and Forrest Claude; sister, Thelma Claude, in infancy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, enjoyed the challenges of his computer and had a lot of fun cooking and baking, especially banana bread.
