EAGLE GROVE - Bernice Edna Crovisier, the daughter of Nicholas James and Esta Caroline Yenck was born Oct. 17, 1919 in Vincent, Iowa, Newark Township, Webster County. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in May 1938. Bernice married Fred Crovisier on Feb. 23, 1941 and to this union were born two daughters. Bernice did secretarial work for a local implement dealer. She and Fred farmed near Webster City at the beginning of their married life then moved to a farm southeast of Eagle Grove where they remained for their retirement. Two years ago they moved to Kentucky Ridge Assisted Living in Mason City. Bernice always took great pride in helping with the farming, cooking, parenting, crocheting afgans and doilies, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Bernice passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at the Muse Norris Hospice House in Mason City, at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James; sister, Helen; and son in law, Greg Dralle. Survivors include her husband, Fred, daughter, Carol (Dave) Clayton of Mason City and Kathy Dralle of Mason City; a grandson, Nicholas Dralle of Austin, Texas and a granddaughter, Chelsea Dralle of Cedar Falls, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.
