Mason City Globe-Gazette, IowaKLEMME, IA - Funeral services for Merlin John "Bud" Neuberger, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Klemme, with Pastor Curtis DeVance officiating. Interment will be in Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home in Klemme and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Merlin John "Bud" Neuberger, the son of John and Mary (Yahnke) Neuberger, was born Oct. 14, 1920, on a farm east of Klemme. He attended country school in Ell Township and began working on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Marcele Blumer in 1941 and they farmed for awhile and moved to Renwick, where Bud ran a milk truck and delivered mail. He was united in marriage to Betty Ward on April 21, 1979, and they had lived in Klemme in the house his uncle built since their marriage. Bud was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme, loved woodworking, gardening, watching birds and planting trees. He was one that always liked a good story and could tell them as well. He died on Monday (Sept. 18, 2000) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
Those thankful for sharing his life are his wife, Betty, of Klemme; daughter, Marolee Neuberger of Jackson, Mich.; sons, Dean Neuberger and his wife, Vickie, of Aplington, Iowa, Brad Neuberger and his wife, Dana, of Lee Summit, Mo.; stepdaughter, Celeste Ehrecke and her husband, Jerry, of Wilton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Clarence, Walter, John, and Bill; sisters, Faye and Mae; and his twin sister, Margaret. Tenold Funeral Home
