Beatrice E. Brown, 75, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a vigil at 7 p.m.

Surviving is her husband Dan; sons, Rodney D. Brown and his wife Terry of Urbandale, Michael J. Brown of Tempe, Ariz., David E. Brown and his wife Kelly of Fort Dodge, Tim C. Brown and his wife Cindy of Georgetown, Ky., Joe E. Brown and his wife Jamie of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; daughter, Francie A. Victor and her husband John of Urbandale; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, J. C. "Kite" Clausen of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Dorothy O'Brien of Belmond, Judy Brandt of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ann (Davis) Clausen; sisters, Shirley Slama, Marian Park, Connie McCarthy, Gila Braden, Charlotte Bock, Mary Guthrie; brothers, Keith, Ronald and Clayton "Bud" Clausen.

Beatrice E. Clausen was born Feb. 19, 1933 in Duncombe and attended Duncombe High School. On Aug. 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Daniel "Dan" Brown at St Joseph Catholic Church in Duncombe. They established their home in Duncombe and lived there until 1976, when they moved to Fort Dodge. Bea was especially fond of her extensive beanie baby collection and enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas. She loved to bake and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Season. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
