Funeral rites for Lauretta Frohling were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock at the house and then at the reformed church at Meservey. Burial was at the Palsfield cemetery near Belmond. Lauretta Mae Frohling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Frohling, was born in Wright county, Iowa, August 3, 1929. She was baptized in the christian faith, the Rev. O. G. Poppen, September 10, 1935. She spent most of her life at the home of her parents, presently located on a farm northwest of Thornton. It was a great shock to the family, friends and community when her sudden and unexpected death was reported. In an unforeseen manner divine providence decreed that she should suddenly meet death as the result of an auto accident. Her youthful life with all its hopes and promises was brought swift to its close on Saturday evening, October 4. She was removed from the scene of this earthly life at the age of 18 years two months and one day. She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, the parents, four brothers: Donald, Dale, Merle and Byron, all at home, two sisters: (Lola) Mrs. Lyman Robb of Belmond and (Gladys) Mrs. Dale Hurd of Rockford, a niece and a nephew, besides other relatives and friends.
