July 13, 2007Gordon Eugene Mullin, 75, of Potosi, Wis., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque following a short illness. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Deacon Laverne Flagle of All Saints Catholic Church will officiate. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the chapel. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites. Military rites performed by the Swisher American Legion.
Survivors include daughters, Cherel Bryant, Cynthia Mullin and Kenneth of Ely and Carol Sims and Gary of Florida; his brother, Louis McEnroe; sister, Barbara Rowley; and grandchildren, Randee and Tamee Hoose, Helmut Hoch, Jack Sims and Abby Lu Ralston. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; sister, Dixie Waters; and his longtime companion, LaVonne Brown.
Gordon Eugene Mullin was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Hardy, Iowa, the son of Ivan and Luella (Gunder) Mullin-Wagner. He was united in marriage to Joyce Dochterman. He was employed as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenters Local Union 308. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
