IOWA FALLS—Thelma E. Stewart, 86, of Iowa Falls, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Popejoy United Methodist Church with burial in the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. The Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Thelma was born on July 31, 1919, in Vincent, the daughter of Charles and Virginia (Wolford) Bobzin. She attended school in Webster City and received her GED from Ellsworth College. Thelma was united in marriage to Lewis Stewart on Nov. 14, 1937, in Webster City. She had worked at the Popejoy School in the kitchen for six years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Popejoy and she enjoyed traveling, quilting and crafting.

Thelma is survived by her two sons, Robert and his wife, Diana of Iowa Falls and Roger and his wife, Donna of Popejoy; two daughters, Connie Wilkie and her husband, Dennis of Iowa Falls and Marilyn Schoon and her husband, Robert of Polo, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis; a daughter, Janet Stewart; a son, Harry Stewart; a grandson, Joel Schoon; four sisters; and one brother.
