Lenexa, KS -- C. Rodney Johnson, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 27, 2008. Preceding Rodney in death were his parents, Ralph Johnson and Cosie Jones Johnson; brother, Grant; and sisters, Winona and Helen. He is survived by his wife, Helen Lounsberry Johnson, three sons, Randy of Overland Park, KS, David of Delano, MN, and Stewart of Libertyville, IL; his sister, Alice; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Rodney was an Ag Engineering graduate of Iowa State University and an Army Lieutenant in the 101st Airborne Division. Rodney and Helen made homes in Des Moines and Clarion, IA, Overland Park, KS, and Holiday Island, AR. Rodney was an avid pilot and logged over 4000 hours of flying both for business and pleasure. He was an excellent hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Rodney and Helen were members of the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church.
