Eighteen year-old Heidi Wiemann of Meservey died of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning at her home Saturday. A malfunctioning furnace is thought to be the cause of the accident.

Heidi Jo Wiemann, 18, of 1551 Cardinal Ave., Meservey, died Saturday (Dec. 9, 1995) at her home in Meservey. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church, Meservey, with the Rev. Rodney Meester officiating. Burial will be in the Meservey Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Grarup Funeral Home, Meservey.

Heidi Jo Wiemann was born Nov. 14, 1977, in Belmond, the daughter of Gordon and Judy (Darland) Wiemann. She attended Meservey-Thornton Elementary School and was to graduate from Sheffield-Chapin-Meservey-Thornton High School this spring. Her activities in school included being a homecoming queen candidate, president of the senior class, captain of the girl's varsity basketball team, an active team member on the girl's softball, track and volleyball teams along with being a member of the yearbook staff. Heidi's favorite color was blue and she enjoyed collecting banks, playing golf, listening to country western music, spending time with her friends and sharing her smile with those around her. Heidi worked as a clerk for the Wiemann Auction Co. and Sparbo in Goodell packing eggs. She was a member of the RCYF of the First Reformed Church of Meservey.

She is survived by her parents, Gordon and Judy Wiemann of Meservey; two sisters, Marcy Halfpop of Garner and Becky Formanek of Britt; one brother, Gary Wiemann of Mason City; and her paternal grandmother, Lyda Wiemann of Meservey.
