Oren Hanson, 74, of Belmond died Sunday at the Belmond Hospital. Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Nadine) Walrod and one son, Roger of Mason City.

Funeral Services for Oren Hanson, 74, of Belmond, who passed away Sunday morning at the Belmond Community Hospital will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Belmond with Burial in the Belmond Cemetery. Rev. Dick Watkins will officiate. The Willim-Andrew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born October 24, 1887, in Belmond Township, he was the son of Hans and Mattie Hanson. He was raised in Belmond Township and educated in the rural schools there. After his schooling he farmed with his brother for 2 years. On Sept 25, 1919, Mr. Hanson was Married to Mona Jenison in Belmond and together farmed in Belmond Township until 1940. In 1940 they came to Belmond where Mr. Hanson operated a truckline until his retirement in 1963. Mr. Hanson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Belmond.

Survivors include his wife Mona; 1 daughter Mrs. Dale (Nadine) Walrod of Ankeny; 1 son Roger of Mason City; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 brother Melvin of Belmond; and 2 sisters: Mrs. Guy (Inga) Barton of Buffalo Center, and Mrs. Ollie (Helma) Tomson of Canton, South Dakota, and a large number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Otto, 1 sister Louise, and 1 great grandchild Scotty Phifer.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Russell Dorr, Bob Tomson, Ralph Wenzel, Walter Schleiffarth, Don Robinson, Archie Stockseth. Active Casket Bearers: Bob Churchouse, Merle Been, Leroy Green, Cleo Wilson, Ed Gabrielson, Leonard Collier.
