Irene Hillebrand, 94, Grand Forks, formerly of Aneta, died Friday, Oct. 25, 1991, in Deaconess Nursing Home, Northwood, N.D. Irene Thompson was born March 25, 1897 in Thor, Iowa. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to Lakota, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. She married Elmer Hillebrand June 25, 1919. After their marriage, they farmed in rural Aneta until 1943, when they moved to Grand Forks, where she worked as a cook in a Fraternity house. She later moved to Valley Memorial Home Almonte Avenue.

Survivors are grandchildren, Michael Hillebrand, Oberon, N.D., Bradley Hillebrand, Reynolds, N.D., and Sheila (Mrs. Dennis) Knudson, Edmond, Okla; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold; three brothers; a sister, and a half sister. Services: 2 p.m. Monday in the nursing home chapel. Visitation: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today in Stanley Funeral Home, McVille, N.D., and one hour before services in the chapel.
