METAMORA, Illinois -- Ozmund Lund "Bud" Knutson, 71, of rural Metamora died at 8:18 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 1995, in the emergency room at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Born Oct. 22, 1923, in Thor, Iowa, to Julius and Christina Lund Knutson, he married Mary Kathleen Rice on Feb. 4, 1951, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, William of Mount Horeb, Wis., and Brian of Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. Kurt (Christine) Franson of Barrington and Jennifer Knutson of Bloomington; one sister, Aagot Meyer of Humboldt, Iowa; one brother, Christian of Virginia Beach, Va.; and three grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. He was an industrial tool salesman for Snap-On Tools. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 89; Temple Masonic Lodge 46 of Peoria; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Mohammed Temple Shrine in Peoria. He also was a member of Metamora Christian Union Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mason Funeral Home. The Rev. John Szilvasy will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by his American Legion post. Memorials may be made to his church or Emergency 116 Rescue Squad.
