Harold Lloyd Bailey, 63, of Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his residence of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Funeral services for Harold Bailey will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Gary Van Wert will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Harold Lloyd Bailey was born January 5, 1945, in Belmond, the son of Lloyd and Dorothy (Olsen) Bailey. He graduated from Dumont High School. On March 20, 1965, he was united in marriage to Judy Ritzman at the Central Methodist Church in Charles City. After living in Waverly until 1970, they farmed south of Charles City. Harold was employed with Terex in Waverly for 39 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Harold enjoyed farming and raising cattle. Family was always important to Harold and he looked forward to being a part of their lives. Harold will also be remembered for the mischievous spark in his eye.

Living family members include his wife, Judy Bailey of Charles City; two daughters, Hope (Mick) Timmerman of Cedar Falls and Kathy (Dave) Strauser of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Jordan and Nathan Timmerman and Carly and Courtney Strauser; his mother, Dorothy Bailey of Hampton; and three sisters, Karen (Harry) Jungling of Bristow, Linda (John) Campbell of Hampton and Ellen (Larry) Day of Shell Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Bailey in August of 1985. The Hauser Funeral Home, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.
