LaVonne Magels, 86, a former resident of Milford, died October 5, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Services were held October 9 at Warner Chapel in Spencer. Burial was in Hartley. LaVonne Ethel was born January 4, 1922 in Belmond, the daughter of William and Millie Young Friesleben. She graduated from Alexander High School in 1940. She married Roy Christopher of Hartley and they had a daughter. Later she married Adolph Mangels. They lived in Arnolds Park and had one daughter. She was preceded in death by both husbands and her beloved companion Earl Elias. LaVonne is survived by daughters Jacquelyn Ann Christopher of Atlantic and Betty Lou Adams (Mike) Crabb of Spencer; three step-daughters; and brother Hartley (Wilma) Friesleben of Clarion.
