Rosezella Louise, the daughter of Frederick E. and Elmira (Carrington) Koeppel, was born August 30, 1912 in Creston. She attended Creston Public Schools through her sophomore year. Rosezella married Gunnar O. Kling on April 30, 1932 at Grant City, MO. They bought their home in Belmond in December 1937. Rosezella was a life long homemaker who dedicated her life to helping nurture and provide for the needs of her husband and three sons. In addition to being a homemaker, Rosezella sold magazines for a time in the 1950's. She also worked for many years as a home health aide and adult sitter, caring for many who were much younger than she. Her love of people and helping her family, neighbors, and friends shown brightly. Following Gunnar's passing, Rosezella looked forward to spending times in the spring and fall in Texas. Many will remember Rosezella's daily outings to the local hospital and care center to visit -- a simple hello, her warm smile, and a brief conversation brought a ray of light. Others will remember Rosezella as a vibrant lady whose energy seemed boundless. She had a great love of exercise throughout her life, and in later years she looked forward to daily excursions on her bicycle or a trip to the swimming pool for a dip. A breast cancer survivor, Rosezella participated in breast cancer awareness events, including one in Texas where she was the oldest walker. One of her proudest accomplishments earning her GED in her 80's. Rosezella was an excellent seamstress and had made many of her family's clothes. Two of her favorite pastimes were gardening and handicraft. She loved flowers and always had a large produce garden. She loved to work crossword puzzles and Bonanza Bill. In later years she would look forward to the daily routines of watching The Price Is Right, journaling the happenings of the day, and having coffee. Rosezella was a religious lady and a longtime member of the Belmond United Methodist Church. In later years she attended church with her son Richard, mother-in-law Jennie Steenhard, and Jennie's daughter, Sharon Hagie. Sunday would not be complete without dinner at Pizza Ranch or Cattleman's.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1970; son Miran in 1990; grandsons Roger and Mark Kling; great grandson Curtis Kling; brothers John, William, Fred and Theodore; sisters Isabelle and Alma; and daughters-in-law Marilyn and Ruth Ann.
