Lew N. Waage, 64, Hampton, died June 17, 2002 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hampton United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will be at Amsterdam Cemetery near Goodell. Lew was born December 15, 1937 at Goodell, son of Nico and Meriam Zieman Waage. He attended Goodell High School and then worked at North Central Farm Service, retiring in the fall of 2001. He attended the Hampton United Methodist Church. His pastimes were fishing, golfing, cribbage and he enjoyed playing softball when he was young. Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers Gene and Fritz. Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Waage of Latimer; son Todd Waage of Hampton; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Kenneth Steele of Carson City, NV; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Don Suntken of Belmond; sister LuAnn Hadacek of Mason City; and three grandchildren.
