Barbara L. Morris, a life long Meservey resident, died on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. She was 87. Funeral services were held on Monday morning, November 18, at the Salem United Methodist Church in Meservey, with Rev. Dan Voss presiding. Interment was in the Meservey Cemetery. Visitation was at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf-Grarup Funeral Home in Meservey.

Barbara Lucille Braga, was born on January 31, 1915 in rural Meservey, the daughter of Walter W. and Anna (Wenzel) Braga. She attended the Meservey School and graduated in 1932. On February 10, 1934, Barbara was united in marriage with Mervin Ray Morris in Meservey. When they were first married they worked on a farm near Meservey.

Barbara Lucille Braga was born January 31, 1915 in rural Meservey the daughter of Walter W. and Anna (Wenzel) Braga. She graduated from Meservey High School in 1932. She married Mervin Ray Morris Feb. 10, 1934 and they worked on a farm near Meservey. Eventually they were able to buy their own farm. In 1958 they moved into town. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers and their wives, Gerald (Dorothy) and Arthur (Lois). Barbara is survived by three children: Carroll (Vicki) Morris of Phoenix; Judy (Harlan) Buseman of Meservey; and Sharon (Vernon) Schmale of Meservey; 11 grandchildren: LuAnn (Daryl) Brown; Kay (Jim) Zahn; Rusty (Judy) Morris; Michael Morris; Michelle (Jeremy) Rojas; Mickey Buseman; Kelly (Kenny) Hanson; Shelly (Dale) Schultz; Marty (Kristen) Buseman; Monty (Lori) Schmale; and Stacey (Larry) Ubben; and three step grandchildren: Rick (Angie) Kinseth; Lori Steenblock; and Kim (Brian) Kuester.
