Ernest Mehl, 80, of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, died on Monday, July 1, 2002, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 12, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel with his nephew, Rev. Raymond Mehl officiating. Born on August 16, 1921, in Kanawha, the son of James and Dena (Tabenera) Mehl, he received his education at Kanawha. Among the survivors are his nieces from Belmond, Eunice Banning, Lois Patterson and Arlene Greenwood.
