ROWAN, Iowa — Fred Harley Stadtlander, 87, rural Rowan, died Saturday (May 25, 1985) at a Belmond hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Rowan, with the Rev. Joan Moss officiating. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Rowan.

Fred Stadtlander was born Feb. 15, 1898, in rural Franklin County to Chris and Christine (Larsen) Stadtlander. He was married Feb. 17, 1920, at Hampton, to Ida Sophia Muhlenbruch. She preceded him in death in 1982. He was a retired farmer. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today, at the Fulton Funeral Home, Belmond. Survivors included two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Ione) Langdon of Ostrander, Minn. and Mrs. Loren (Marladean) Hadley of rural Rowan; one brother, Leonard of Latimer; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
