Virgil Stille, 1920-2002
Virgil "Buck" C. Stille, 81, of Garner, died on Thursday, October 17, 2002, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit in Britt. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 21, at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. David Daley officiated. Burial was in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Music was provided by organist, Marilyn DeKruyff who accompanied soloist, Angie Pringnitz and congregational hymns. Ushers were Paul Delger and John Eekhoff. The Ewing-Dugger Funeral Home of Kanawha was in charge of the arrangements.
Virgil Stille, son of J. J. and Clara (Gast) Stille, was born on November 20, 1920, on the family farm in Liberty Township west of Klemme, where he lived his entire life. He attended school in Liberty Township and graduated from the Klemme High School in 1939. On November 28, 1942, he was united in marriage to Grace Ruter. They retired from farming in 1985, and spent the last 25 years wintering in Weslaco, Texas. They also made several trips to Mississippi and Kentucky with the County Cousins.
