Arnold Williamson, 89, of Marshalltown, formerly of Clarion, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the Veterans Home, Marshalltown. Memorial services were held Friday, July 14th at Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, Clarion. Pastor Gary Boen officiated the 10 a.m. service. Inurnment was held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.

Arnold William Williamson was born August 18, 1916 at Kanawha, the son of Nels and Elfreta (Nerem) Williamson. He was raised in Kanawha. On August 4, 1942, he joined the Navy and was discharged on October 23, 1945. After his discharge he settled in Clarion and ran the Clarion Hatchery. He moved to Marshalltown 13 years ago and entered the Veterans Home and resided there until his passing.

Arnold is survived by two sisters-Verna Mowatt of San Bernadino, California; Ardelle Blendow of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; and one brother-Erling A. Williamson of Tacoma, Washington.
