Geo. Mourlam Died Sunday
George E. Mourlam, 53, longtime resident of Wall Lake township, Wright county, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday at his farm home 10 miles south of Clarion. He had been in ill health the past several months. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Missionary Alliance church in Blairsburg, preceded by a brief service at 1:15 at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Milford Olson will officiate and burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
George Edward Mourlam, son of Joseph and Emma Mourlam, was born April 23, 1906, on a farm in Wall Lake township. He was reared and educated in that community. He was united in marriage Jan. 29, 1931, to Mayme Peck. Mr. and Mrs. Mourlam farmed in Woolstock township for 12 years, then moved to the farm in Wall Lake township which had since been their home.
Surviving are his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs, Richard Mourlam of Rushville, Ind., three daughters and one son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Masters of Brunswick, Neb., Miss Lois Mourlam of Chicago, Ill., and Miss Sharon Mourlam at home; four grandchildren, Colleen Masters, Gretchen, Janelle and Nathan Richard Mourlam; his mother, Mrs. Joe Mourlam of Woolstock; one brother and six sisters: Louis Mourlam of Woolstock, Mrs. Harry (Nellie) Krieger of Webster City, Mrs. Harry (Mable) Claude of Jewell, Mrs. Carl (Florence) Heck, Dodge Center, Minn., Mrs. Gerald (Hazel) Ratcliff, Webster City, and Miss Ethel and Edna Mourlam, both of Woolstock. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister. Mr. Mourlam was a member of the Missionary Alliance church.
