Denzil "Bud" Foley, 78, of Peru died of cancer Aug. 22, 2000, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 25, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor John Safford officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Bud Foley was born May 29, 1922, to Roy M. and Wilma Eugene (Young) Foley of Renwick. He married Mary Lou Hulbert on June 25, 1954 in Peru. A resident of Madison County for most of his life, he was retired following 23 years as a truck driver with the Madison County Secondary Roads Department. Bud also had been involved for many years with 4-H. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Raymond (wife Loretta) and Roy (wife Julia) both of Winterset; a brother, Jake Foley (wife Edwina) of New Virginia; two sisters, Judy Atkinson (husband Dale) of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Thelma Thurman of Denison, Texas; and four grandchildren.
