Mae Blumer, 73, of Klemme, passed away at the Belmond Nursing Home, Wednesday evening, March 20, 1974. Christina Mae Blumer was born August 18, 1900 in Hancock County east of Klemme. She was the daughter of John and Marie (Jahnke) Neuberger. She was raised and educated in the rural Klemme area. On January 16, 1922 she was united in marriage to Walter Blumer in the Methodist parsonage in Garner. They farmed near Klemme until 1966 when they retired to their home in Klemme. Mr. Blumer died November 11, 1971. Mrs. Blumer had been in failing health since his death and entered the Belmond Nursing Home in April of 1973. Mrs. Blumer was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme.
Survivors include three sons, Leo and Ivan of Omaha, Nebraska and Glen of St. Paul, Minnesota; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Margie) Willie of Klemme; Mrs. Luverne (Mary Ann) Schmidt of Garner; and Mrs. Cecil (Marlene) Jacobs of St. Paul, Minnesota; seventeen grandchildren; five brothers, Walter Neuberger of Nora Springs, Clarence Neuberger of Klemme, John Neuberger of Brownsville, Texas, William Neuberger of Klemme, and Merlin Neuberger of Renwick; two sisters, Ruth Neuberger of Klemme, and Mrs. Asa (Faye) Gibbs of Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and an infant sister.
