Bertha (Rena) Irena Pogge, 75, of Fort Dodge, passed away at the Marian Home on Sunday, May 4, 2008. She was born on the 23rd of December, 1932, in Gilmore City, IA. Rena was raised and educated in Gilmore City and Fort Dodge. She was united in marriage to Chris John Pogge on March 1, 1950, at the Lutheran Church in LuVerne, MN. Rena worked for Fort Dodge Senior High School as a baker from August 1969 to January 1974. She was also employed at Globe Union from 1974 to 1985 when she retired for health reasons. Rena is survived by her husband Chris of Fort Dodge; son Jackson Pogge, and wife Cindy, of Kanawha; daughter Jean Martinson, and husband Melvin (Butch), of Fort Dodge; one brother Carl Claman, and wife Marian, of Cantril, IA. Rena is also survived by six grandchildren, Carrie, Mark, Michel, Dan, Alissa and Callista; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother Than, parents Nathaniel and Carrie Claman and an infant daughter Jane Elaine Pogge.

The visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Wednesday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m. Committal services will be held at the Renwick Cemetery, following a luncheon to be held at Prince of Peace. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
