Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 30, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake with the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Dorothy Louise Ward.

Dorothy Louise Ward was born on Dec. 10, 1924, in rural Corwith, the daughter of William and Elfreda Agnes (Kraft) Heidecker. She attended and received her education in the Renwick School system, graduating from Renwick High School. She also attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. After completing her schooling she worked as a secretary for the Quaker Oats Elevator in Renwick. She was united in marriage to Donald G. Ward on June 2, 1945, in Renwick. After their marriage together they farmed near Whittemore, Corwith, and later in Clear Lake. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1971, at which time she took over the ownership and management of the Cave Lounge in Clear Lake. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, embroidery, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards with her many friends at the Clear Lake VFW, and outdoor gardening, but her great love and enjoyment was her family and grandchildren.
