LaVonne Catherine Bannick Hotz, 72, died Nov. 6, 1999, at her residence. A native of Lone Rock, Iowa, she was born Aug. 20, 1927, to George and Etta (Matthews) Bannick and had lived in Reno for the past 36 years, coming from Renwick, Iowa. Mrs. Hotz was a retired manager for the Mapes Boutique and had worked at Walden's Bookstore, Owl Rexall and The Chocolate Pit. She was a member of the Lutheran church.

Her husband, Spencer Richard, died in 1984. Surviving are son, James Bosch and daughters, Vickie Tonner and Judy Wilson, all of Reno and three grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home, 600 West Second St. Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory.
