Mary Anna Huss, 91, formerly of New Virginia, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola with burial at Linn Grove Cemetery near Prole. Mary graduated from Renwick, Iowa High School in 1933. At the age of 56, she graduated from the Des Moines School of Practical Nursing and practiced nursing well into her retirement years. She also maintained her family farm until 1993. She made her home the last twelve years with youngest daughter, Barbara Brundidge in Milo.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Huss in 1984 and son, Dean in 1961. She is survived by three sons, Francis (Irene) Huss of Maxwell, Henry (Mary) Huss of New Virginia, and Robert (Joanne) Huss of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two daughters, Dorothy (Charles) Spotts of Des Moines and Barbara (Danny) Boundidge of Milo; brothers, Oliver (Dorothy) Steffa of Pittsfield, Illinois and Clarence Steffa of St. David, Arizona; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-greatgrandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Osceola Seventh Day Adventist Church.
