Story City, IA -- LaVonne J. Olson, 69, of Story City died December 16, 2007 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Story City Cemetery.

LaVonne was born June 21, 1938 in Renwick, Iowa to Bill and Hazel (Lunning) McGonigle. She married Maynard Olson on April 27, 1957. She was clubhouse manager at Riverbend Golf Course in Story City for 17 years.

LaVonne is survived by her husband, Maynard of Story City; a son, Don (Lori) Olson of Story City; a daughter, Patti Lutjen of Story City; four grandchildren, Justin, Bryce, Trent and Ryan; two sisters, Theola Peterson (Norman) of Gilbert and Doris Fagerland (Delbert) of Normal, IL; and a brother, Allen McGonigle (LuAnne) of Jewell. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill McGonigle.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
