Services for Martha Metcalfe, 69, of Killeen are at 1 p.m. Friday at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4700 E. Rancier, in Killeen. Burial will be a private family service. Metcalfe died June 2, 2008, in Temple. She was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Buckeye, Ariz. She was a retired colonel who was in the U.S. Army nursing corps, and she served for 26 years. Survivors include her husband, Bill Metcalfe [born in Clarion, Iowa]; her daughters, Jessie and Kerrie Metcalfe; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be sent to LLUCH Foundation, P.O. Box 2000, Loma Linda, CA 92354. Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen is handling arrangements.
