BELMOND - Priscilla L. Dingler, 54, most recently of Belmond, formerly of George, Iowa, and a Rapid City, S.D. native, died Friday (Aug. 22, 2008) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Immanuel Reformed Church, east of Belmond with the Rev. David De Kuiper officiating. Graveside services will also be held in Hill City, S.D., at a date and time yet to be determined. Friends may call from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 25, at the Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First St. S.E. in Belmond, and also from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Memorial suggestions include the Oakwood Park Christian Church, Sioux Falls, S.D., or to the donor's choice.

Priscilla Lynn Davis, the daughter of Jack and Helen (Yoast) Davis, was born Feb 15, 1954 in Rapid City, S.D., the youngest of seven siblings to bless this union. She was a young child when her mother divorced and her older siblings took on a greater role of helping to look after her needs. Priscilla attended high school in Hot Springs, S.D., and graduated with the Class of 1972. She continued her post secondary education at the University of Northern Colorado where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Home and Health Care Administration in 1976. Priscilla had fulfilled the role of philanthropic chair for the Alpha Z Delta Sorority of the college for many years.

Priscilla later spent several years raising and caring for the needs of her children, Jeffrey, Matthew, and Mary Fletcher. In addition to seeing that their necessities were provided for, Priscilla worked very hard to ensure that their spiritual needs were met as well. Her children remember attending church at least three times per week. Her family was always foremost in her focus in life. Priscilla eventually pursued her professional aspirations as a Health Care Administrator spending times in this role at various facilities throughout the midwestern region. Her first position was in Ellsworth, Kan., then she served six years in this position at Scotland, S.D., three years in Partial and Newtown, N.D., six years at George, Iowa, and most recently she been employed as the Administrator of the Belmond Health Care Center since August of 2007. Those who have had the opportunity to have worked with her in her professional role reflect fondly upon her caring, innovative, and meticulous leadership. Many, including her family and friends, will also miss her straightforward attitude and great sense of humor. Her story and joke telling often times concluded in a unique ending and in a way that only she could tell them. She will also be remembered for her strong sense of faith, renewing and strengthening her beliefs many times during her life. In addition to her roles as a mother and in her profession, Priscilla was very active in her civic life as well. She was a life long member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and had been an active member of Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Kiwanis, and gave of her time to her community in many other ways. She also enjoyed times spent traveling, especially along the back roads of life. The family reflects back on many journeys between their years in Tucson, Ariz., and the Black Hills. They also remember many trips with mom to the consignment shops, her love of times spent "junking" and her fondness for antiquing. Priscilla also enjoyed her cats and shopping excursions in general. She was very proud of her new granddaughter, Stella. Those who had the opportunity to cross Priscilla's path during her life will always remember her unique personality and humor, great leadership skills, strong independence, and her warm and caring focus on the needs of others.

Her memory will live on in the lives of her children, Jeffrey Paul Fletcher, Santa Anita, Calif., Matthew Owen Fletcher, Seattle, Wash., and Mary Alice Fletcher and her daughter Stella Renae Fletcher, Sioux Falls, S.D.; her siblings, Mary Helen (Warren) Alexander, Hill City, S.D., John Davis (Eleanor), Helmville, Mont., Gale Davis (Sue), Rapid City, S.D., Susan Malenke, Hot Springs, S.D., Anne (Jim) Zwetzig, Hot Springs, S.D., and Elizabeth Campbell (Doug Coyle), Hot Springs, S.D. and numerous nieces and nephews.
