James Thomas Deimerly, the son of Sebastian & Anna O'Neill Deimerly, was born near Clarion, Wright County, Iowa on March 9, 1920. He was educated in the Rural Dayton Township School # 6. He was engaged in farming for a time before his marriage to Mabel Louise Hanson of Eagle Grove, Iowa , on February 19, 1941, at the St. John's Catholic Church, Clarion, Iowa. The couple farmed for 6 years near Clarion, Iowa, before moving to Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he was in the Custom Farming & Corn Shelling business, & for 9 years , Jim & his Daughter Jane Solis owned the Smoke Shop Lounge in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Mrs. Mabel Deimerly died September 30, 1973. James died early Wednesday, June 27, 1990 at the Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, & 18 days.

He is survived by 1 son James of Jewell, Iowa, 4 daughters, Carol Deimerly of Altoona, Iowa, Joyce Deimerly of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Jane (Mrs. Geno) Solis of Eagle Grove, Iowa, & Janice Ferguson of Altoona, Iowa. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Claire, & sister Theresa Mraz.

James was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove, Iowa, Funeral services for James Thomas Deimerly, 70, were held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 29, 1990, at Sacred Heart Church, Eagle Grove, Iowa. The reverend Wayne Drossler officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Parish vigil prayer services for James were held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday, at the Funeral Home. Kastler-Babcock Services.
