Dowia Pals rites set Saturday

SWALEDALE- Dowia Pals, 63, Swaledale, Iowa died at a Mason City hospital Thursday afternoon. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Clear Lake Evangelial Free Church with the Rev. Harold McGowan officiating. Burial will be in Meservey Cemetery. The Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Harvey Plosdofer, Leo Eddy, Gus Meier, Lawrence Bonner, H.D. Casper and J. D. Gaffney. Mrs. Melvin Ouverson will be the organist. Mrs. Denzil Hoskins and Mrs. Lawrence Schaer will sing.

Mr. Pals was born Oct. 23, 1901, at Latimer, the son of Klass and Mary (Saatoff) Pals. He had lived in Swaledale 20 years and was a feed salesman. Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Greone) Nelson and Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Rickard, both of Clear Lake; Mrs. Charles (Alma) Nelson, Kettle River, Minn.; Mrs. Bernard (Esther) Beek, Mason City, and Mrs. Harold (Gertrude) Radloff, Garner, and two brothers, Clarence, Forest City, and Warren, Mason City. He was preceded in death by one sister.
