June J. Patterson, 81, of Sweet Home, Oregon died July 5, 2008 at her home. She was born June 23, 1927 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Archie G. and Ruby (Woodard) Newcomb. She married Eugene Patterson in 1947 while still living in Iowa. The couple later moved to California, eventually relocating in 1968 to Sweet Home, Oregon. The couple worked together at their own automotive paint shop until Mr. Patterson retired due to his health. Mrs. Patterson was then employed with Hill Timber until retiring herself in 1990. She was a member of the Sweet Home Evangelical Church and was quite active in the local women's group. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband, Eugene Patterson of Sweet Home; some nieces and nephews, and her church family. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and parents. A memorial service was held July 9 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church.

June J. Patterson, age 81, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at her home. She was born the youngest daughter to Archie G. and Ruby (Woodard) Newcomb on June 23, 1927 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She met and later married Eugene Patterson in 1947, while living in Iowa. Eugene later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the beginning of the Korean War. He later sent for June, which eventually brought them both to California. Gene worked in automotive industry after being discharged from the service. In 1968 the couple relocated to Sweet Home, Oregon and worked together at their own automotive paint shop until Gene had to retire due to his health. June found work with Hill Timber, working in their offices until retiring herself in 1990. June was a member of the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. She was quite active in the local women's group.

June is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Patterson of Sweet Home; nieces and nephews; and her church family. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and parents.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
