BRITT - Henry "Hank" Seebeck, 90, of Britt was "called home" on Sunday (Oct. 16, 2005) with his loved ones by his side, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Steve Schulz officiating. Burial will be at Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Chapel in Britt, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Hank was born on Dec. 24, 1914, to Charles and Cora (Abbas) Seebeck, near Kanawha. He was baptized at Kanawha Christian Reformed Church. Hank received his education at the rural country schools. As a young man, Hank professed his Christian faith, and became a member of the Christian Reformed Church. On Feb. 24, 1936, Hank and Matilda (Tillie) Bashans were married. They farmed in the Britt area for more than 60 years. Hank's main interest was his family and grandkids. He enjoyed telling them about "The Good Old Days." He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling.

Hank will be greatly missed by his loving wife, of 69 years, Tillie; daughters, Linda Bergerson, of Blaine, Minn., and Gloria Book, of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; grandchildren: Mark and Shelly Book, Hope and Scott Mikkelson, Tyler Book, Kerry Boon, Courtney Burmester; great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Michael Book, Elizabeth and Adam Mikkelson, Alexander Gallagher-Burmester. Also surviving are two brothers: George and Pearl of Sunnyside, Washington and Clarence and Gen of Britt; many nieces, nephews and friends. Hank was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judi Boon in 2004; son-in-law Bob Book in 2000; three brothers: Charles in 1985, Louie in 1996, and Ben in 2000; and one sister, Marie Prull in 1991.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, West Hancock County Ambulance Service, American Cancer Society, or the Salvation Army.
