Chas. Seebeck Rites Held Mon.

Friends and neighbors are saddened to heat the tidings of the death of Mr. Charles Seebeck at his home seven miles north of Kanawha, Iowa. Mr. Seebeck had not been in the best of health during the past summer and an examination at the Mercy Hospital at Mason City led to an operation which, it was hoped, would afford temporary relief. However, upon his release from the hospital, it soon appeared that all efforts to prolong his life had failed. Death came Thursday afternoon at about three o'clock.

Mr. Charles D. Seebeck was born at Plattville, Wis., on November 15, 1881, where he spent his boyhood days receiving his education in the grade schools of that place. At the age of 19 years he came to this vicinity finding employment at various places. On March 5, 1907, he was united in marriage to Miss Cornelia Abbas, daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Berend Abbas. They first made their home on a farm 7 miles north and two miles west of Kanawha moving a year later to a farm 2 1-2 miles south and two miles west of Kanawha. About 13 years ago they purchased the farm 7 miles north of Kanawha where they continued to reside until the time of his death on October 9, 1941. He attained the age of 59 years, ten months and 24 days. Mr. Seebeck was a loving father and husband and a good neighbor. He made public profession of faith in Christ on March 26, 1930 at which time he became a member of the Christian Reformed Church. He was acquainted with (the) way of salvation in Jesus and this was his comfort in his illness and also as the time of his departure approached.

He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful and devoted wife, seven children: Mrs. Gerhard Prull (Marie), Ben, Henry, of Wesley, Louis, George, Charles, and Clarence; two grandchildren: Janice and Connea: two brothers: Will and Eibe, both of Nassau, Minn., other relative and many friends. One child, Cornelia, three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral services were held at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church Monday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. D. H. Plesscher, officiating. Interment was made in the Kanawha cemetery.
