BRITT, IA - Marie J. Wright, 92, of Britt, died Monday (Nov. 5, 2001) at Westview Care Center in Britt. Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ewing Funeral Home in Britt, with the Rev. Susan Detwiler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Ewing Funeral Home in Britt and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Ewing Funeral Home.

Marie J. Wright, 92, of Britt passed away at the Britt Nursing home. She was the daughter of Rasme & Nancy Veldhouse Christensen, was born June 7, 1909 in Kanawha. [ed. near Goldfield, Wright County, Iowa] She attended country school near the family farm home, and graduated from Kanawha High School. Marie was united in marriage with Carl Christenson in 1928. The couple made their home in Des Moines, IA. for a time before moving back to Kanawha. She was united in marriage with Leslie Wright on July 21, 1945 in Britt. Leslie & Marie made their home in Britt, where Marie was employed with the hot lunch program at the Britt grade school and high school. Marie later worked for Winnebago Industries until her retirement in 1975.

Marie is survived by her children: Carl V. Christenson of Moline, IL, Randy Wright and his wife Ramona, of Britt, Rhonda Berhow and her husband Eugene of Stanhope, IA, and Ramona Kabrick and her husband David of Britt, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leslie (June 26, 1979), two grandsons, Casey Wright and Scott Christenson. She was buried in the Britt Cemetery.
