Three Rivers, MI--Rev. Robert L. Hooker, 69, died Aug. 12, 1991, at the Three Rivers Area Hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Kanawha, Iowa, a son of Robert K. and LaVigne Tobias HOOKER. He attended Wittenberg University, Carthage College, Hamma Divinity School and the Lutheran School of Theology, Maywood, Ill. On Feb. 17, 1945, he was ordained as a Lutheran pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carthage, Ill. He has served in the following Lutheran parishes; First English, San Francisco, Calif.; Mount Calvary, DeSoto, Ill.; Grace Woodstock, Ill.; Epiphany, Elmhurst, Ill.; Faith, Homewood, Ill. He served as superintendent of Missions of the Illinois Synod and he organized congregations in Illinois at St. Timothy, Skokie; Holy Trinity, Lombard; Christ, Clarendon Hills; and Nativity, Wonder Lake. During his ministry, he also served on the board of trustees of Carthage College and on various synodical committees. Since his retirement in 1986, he has served as interim pastor at Reformation Lutheran Church, Coldwater, and St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Sturgis.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah; children, Ronald, Three Rivers; and Mrs. Glenn (Rene) Gambrill, Crownsville, Md. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Lambert Hooker.

There will be no visitation. A memorial services is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Three Rivers, with Bishop Reginald Holle and Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or St. Timothy's Church, Sturgis.
