Ruth Maxine McFadden, age 77, of Prairie City, Iowa died Saturday, August 18, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Prairie City United Methodist Church with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 20, 2007, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Prairie City United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association.

The daughter of Walter & Lillian (Kehl) Holck, Ruth was born on February 10, 1930, in Kanawha, Iowa. Ruth graduated from Kanawha High School and attended Waldorf College. On January 26, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lawrence McFadden in Kanawha. Ruth was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, T.T.T., United Methodist Women, and MNO Club. Ruth especially enjoyed attending her grandkids activities.

Those left to honor her memory are her children and grandchildren, Virginia (Terry) Golubiewski of Marengo, Iowa, and their children, Ashley Newman, Cheyenne Newman and Dylan Golubiewski; Laura (Galen) Montag of Nora Springs, Iowa and their children Shawn Montag and Kristen Montag; and Susan McFadden of West Des Moines. Also surviving are two sisters, LaVonne Smidt and Dee Verbrugge and her husband Don both of Kanawha, Iowa. Preceding Ruth in death was her husband Lawrence in 2002.
