Graveside funeral services for Muriel M. Conn, 94, of Newton will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has been entrusted with the arrangements. A visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial in Murial’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Muriel M. Conn, 94, the daughter of William and Mabel (Luick) Montgomery, was born December 11, 1913 in Belmond, Iowa. She attended Belmond area schools. On March 12, 1938, Muriel was united in marriage with David R. Conn in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She had devoted her life to her husband, children and family. In 1965, Muriel and David moved to the Newton, Iowa area. Muriel died Sunday evening, June 29, 2008, at the USA Health Care in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David; her three sons: Richard in 1983, Ronald in 1985 and Cornie in 1987; her son-in-law Larry Rouse on May 4, 1998; her three brothers; three sisters; and a great-granddaughter. Those left to honor Muriel’s memory include her son Robert Conn of Newton; her daughter Janet Rouse of Newton; her seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; her many nieces and nephews; and good neighbors and friends.
