Patrick A. Schnurr, 57, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Peters officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Surviving is his wife Kay; children, Jennifer (Brandon) Skiff of Colorado Springs, Co, Kristin (Scott) Faiferlick of San Diego, CA, Rhonda (Brent) Frazee of Ankeny, Molly (Richard) Pierce of Lyman, ME, Jeffrey Riley and partner Eric Kibel of Costa Mesa, CA, Andrew (Melissa) Schnurr of Ames, Kelli Schnurr of Fort Dodge; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Don (Darlene) Schnurr of Twin Lakes, Tom (Beth) Schnurr of Fort Dodge, Matt (Dee) Schnurr of Fort Dodge; sister, Sally (Bruce) Shimkat of Twin Lakes. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn R. and Jean (Dorsey) Schnurr.

Patrick A. Schnurr was born in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1969. He attended Iowa Central Community College, the University of Northern Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa in December 1974. Following his graduation he returned to Fort Dodge and became employed for Vic and Van Bookkeeping. In the early 1980's he left Iowa and was self-employed in Texas and Colorado. In 1990 he moved back to Fort Dodge and became employed at Siegs and later for Carpet World until his retirement due to ill health in 2005. On August 2, 1991 he was united in marriage to Kay Riley in Las Vegas, NV and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Pat was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was a life long member of Sertoma, and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
