One of Anna C (WHITTY) COLLINS's sisters was Catherine WHITTY (b.24 Nov 1870 Savannah, GA, d. 22 Oct 1897 Lake City, IA) who mard. on 23 Nov 1892 in Tama, Tama Co, IA to John William GESHNER (b. Catherine (WHITTY) GESHNER and Daniel had issue John Lionel GESHNER (b.30 Sep 1896 Eagle Grove, IA, d. 2 Dec 1986 Ft Lauderdale, Broward Co, FL) and John Lionel GESHNER's full sister Kathleen "Vernette" (GESHNER) CARE (b.5 May 1894 Moville, Woodbury, IA, d. 14 Nov 1981 Pompano, Broward Co, FL). John William GESHNER mard.2nd on 23 Jul 1900 in Monmouth, Warren Co, IL to Frances "Fannie"/"Fanny" FOWLER (b.27 Oct 1877 Tama, Tama, IA, d. 30 Jun 1973 Ft Lauderdale, Broward Co, FL who herself had previously been married to James H STRUTHERS on 26 Sep 1895 in Warren Co, IL, and she was the dau of John W FOWLER b. 29 Oct 1838 Brownstone, Jackson Co, IN, d.27 Feb 1898 Tama, Tama Co, IA and his wife Almeda (FOWLER) FOWLER b. 25 Jul 1842 Brownstown, Jackson Co, IN, d. 19 May 1910 Tama, Tama, IA). Because John Lionel and "Vernette" GESHNER's mother died when they were so young, their mother Catherine (WHITTY) GESHNER's sisters and WHITTY parents raised them until their father took them to Denver, CO with his new wife Frances. John Lionel GESHNER even has Rose WHITTY mistakenly recorded as "mother" on his death certificate because his two sons Robert and John Allen GESHNER didn't know their grandparent's names. William H COLLINS and his wife Anna C (WHITTY) COLLINS were in church when John Lionel and Vernette were each christined into the Catholic Church in Eagle Grove, IA. Anna and William COLLINS very much helped to look after the GESHNER children (whose father John William was a n'er-do-well). The COLLINS and all the WHITTY's were very close and instilled a strong commitment to family in the GESHNER children. Because of the strong and caring love they showed, the GESHNER children stayed very close to each other the rest of their lives and made their own little family enclave together in Chicago, IL and then in FL until death separated them.

Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Wright County, Iowa
