VINCENT — Helen L. Page, 83, of Humboldt passed away May 15, 2008 at Tompkins Health Care Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Wally Paige officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery at Webster City. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Mrs. Page is survived by her children, Carol Baldwin and Marcia Baldwin both of Broomfield, CO, Linda Opheim of Fort Dodge, Richard “Dick” Page of Fort Worth, TX, and Wayne Page of Clive; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Gordon Page of Pocahontas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LaVerne; son, Jim Page; brother, Raymond Miller; and sister, Maxine Johnson.

Helen Lauretta Miller, the daughter of Charles B. and Edith L. (Seeley) Miller, was born August 2, 1924 at Waterloo, Iowa. As a child, she moved with her family to Stratford. She was raised and educated at Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. Following her education, she worked for the Stratford Mutual Telephone Company as an operator. On September 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to LaVerne Page at Hutchinson, KS. The couple made their home for a brief time in Kansas while LaVerne was in defense work during World War II. Following the war, they returned to Stratford. The family made their homes in the communities of Thor, Humboldt, Bradgate, Dakota City, Eagle Grove, and Stratford where Helen remained busy raising her children. Mr. Page passed away in September of 2004 and Helen continued to maintain her home until becoming a resident of Friendship Haven in 2006. Mrs. Page was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she had been active in UMW, and was a member of the Church Choir at Bradgate. She enjoyed caring for her children, sewing, and music.
