Miriam Morford Peterson of Lake Forest Park [WA] died Tuesday morning, April 22, 2008, at age 92. She was a sturdy girl born in Clarion, Iowa to farming folk on May 10, 1915. Her parents were Fred J. Morford and Clara Boyington Morford. Her dad was a dedicated farmer who loved Black Angus cows & corn and her mom came from the musical Boying ton clan. She attended Cornell College where she met Dale R. Peterson (deceased in 1978). They married in 1934 and had seven children, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. In 1950 they moved to Lake Forest Park (LFP). Her family and home she cherished with all her heart. She was famous for her Swedish pancakes, her cinnamon rolls, and her answers to any question. With a pool, a basketball court, and a big back yard her home was a popular gathering spot for other kids and she was mom to all. She was loved. Miriam was a regent in the Lady Stirling Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She won the Golden Acorn Service Award from the Shorecrest H.S., PTA. She loved history and genealogy. In 2006, her house was awarded the Trillium Heritage Award (a LFP community historic home).
