Sister Merici O’Malley, OP, died Sept. 22, 2006. Professed in 1930, Sr. Merici taught in the following schools: Sacred Heart, Eagle Grove, IA; St. Thomas, Milwaukee; Holy Trinity, Bloomington, IL; St. Robert, Shorewood; St. Bernard, Peoria; St. Rose, Milwaukee; St. Patrick, Ottawa; St. Joseph, Dubuque, IA; Immaculate Conception, Chicago; St. Thomas, Peoria Heights, IL; and St. Louis de Montfort, Oak Lawn, IL. She also lived at Queen of Peace, Burbank, IL. May she rest in peace.

Dominican Sister Merici O’Malley, 94, died Sept. 22 at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa, Wis. Born in Chicago, she entered the congregation in 1930. She was a primary school teacher for 47 years in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. In the Archdiocese of Chicago, Sr. Merici taught at Immaculate Conception, Chicago (1966-68), Queen of Peace High School, Burbank (1969-70); and St. Louis de Montfort, Oak Lawn (1970-79).
