David Guy Lynch went to the Lord on April 12, 2008 after a good life. David began his life on an Iowa farm where his dad and grandfather raised corn and mules for World War I. David, at an early age, was tied on the cultivator seat behind a pair of bulky mules and tilled the cornfields on the family farm in Belmond, Iowa. Arriving in Bellingham on February 9, 1943, David was known as the plowboy as he and his Massey Ferguson tractor and Howard Rotovator cultivated many garden spots around Bellingham and Whatcom County. After a full time job at Oeser Cedar Company where he worked for nearly forty-five years with time-out for a hitch in the Army during WWII, he retired in 1985. David's hobbies were raising and showing Dalmatian pups, riding his burros, and watching the Mariners. He especially liked it when Lou Pinella kicked the bases and argued with the umpire. David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Guy Lynch; his wife of 49 years Diane A. Lynch; son David Frederick Lynch; and sister Laura Carlson. He is survived by his son Gary A. Lynch; daughter Teresa M. Cunningham; favorite puppy Gulliver; grandsons, Kevin (Christina) Lynch, Brian (Wendy) Lynch; great-granddaughter Aubrey Lynch; brothers Fred Lynch and Paul (Jean) Lynch. We thank Eagleridge Assisted Living Facility for the support and care over the past three years. We give special thanks to Arlene, Theresa, and Linell for their loving care of our father. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Whatcom Hospice, 800 E. Chestnut, Bellingham, WA 98225. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 2:00 PM, at Moles Greenacres Memorial Park. Moles Greenacres Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and On-site Crematory
