Delores Kern, 72, of Woolstock, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2007 at her home. Private services will be held and burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Delores Lorraine Heck, daughter of Carl and Florence Mourlam Heck, was born February 9, 1935 on a farm northeast of Webster City. She attended Woolstock Public School, graduating in 1952. She worked at Woolworths and the National Chiropractic Association. On November 27, 1955, she married Wayne Francis Kern at her aunt’s home east of Woolstock. She continued to work at National Chiropractic and later at the HyVee deli. She had been in failing health for the past 4 years.

Delores is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Michael Kern of Webster City; daughter and son-in-law, Deanne and Dan Johnson of LaCrescent, MN; grandchildren, Taylor, Danielle, Trenton and Tristan Johnson, all of LaCrescent; sisters, Shirley Garnas and Sandy Heck, both of Dodge Center, MN; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Randy Joe Kern in 1966; Sherri Kern in 1990 and her parents.

She was a former member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church.
