Arnold Eugene Gunderson, 67, of Waverly, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Visitation is planned for Friday, March 11, from 4-8:00 p.m., at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, at 1:00 p.m., at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery at Rowan.

Arnold Eugene Gunderson, 67, of Waverly, Iowa, died on March 8, 2005, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

Arnie was born on May 15, 1937, on the family farm in rural Rowan, Iowa, the son of Bill and Dolly (Busick) Gunderson. He attended school and graduated from Hampton High School in 1957. Arnie was employed as a welder at Terex (formerly Schield Bantam) in Waverly until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Arnie is survived by four children, Brenda Thompson of Hampton, Iowa, Vincent Gunderson of Hampton, Kirk (Julie) Gunderson of Hampton, and Bryan Gunderson of Farmington, Minnesota; a special friend and her family, Carol Johnston of Waverly; eight grandchildren; and one brother and his family, Everett Gunderson of Oelwein, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Rowan, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to the family.
