IOWA FALLS - Marvin Russell Campbell, 76, of Iowa Falls died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Services were Tuesday, Aug. 19, at First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls with Rev. David Gobeli officiating. Burial were in Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
Marvin was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Hampton to Wendell and Esther (Lemke) Campbell. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1945, and served in the U.S. Navy. On Dec. 22, 1950, he married Amy Mae Bobst at Popejoy. Marvin was a farmer until his retirement. He was a member of Lee Center United Methodist Church in Dows, Dows Lions Club, NOMADS Volunteers in Mission, in addition to numerous church and farm organizations. He enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his eight grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Amy; two daughters, Connie Ellingson and husband Dwight of Iowa Falls, and Sandee Wendler and husband Steve of Middlebury, Ind.; a son, Mark, and wife Sarah of Osage; eight grandchildren, Todd and Bryan Ellingson of Ames, Abby Ellingson of Iowa Falls, Matthew, Alyssa and Kristi Wendler of Middlebury, Ind., and Simon and Chloe Campbell of Osage; and one brother, Don and wife Dora of Klemme. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls was in charge of arrangements.
